This policy explains cookies and similar technologies used on okyanusi.com. It should be read with our Privacy Policy.
1. What cookies are
Cookies are small text files placed on a device. Similar technologies include pixels, local identifiers and scripts. They can be first-party, set by us, or third-party, set by a provider whose service appears on the site.
2. Your choice
Strictly necessary cookies operate because they are essential for security, login, shopping basket, checkout, consent storage or a service you request. Analytics, advertising and other non-essential technologies are blocked until valid consent is given. Rejecting non-essential cookies must be as easy as accepting them. You can withdraw or change consent at any time through the persistent “Cookie settings” control on the site. Browser controls may also delete cookies, but may affect login or basket functions.
3. Categories
| Category | Purpose | Typical duration |
|---|---|---|
| Necessary | Security, load balancing, consent choice, account session, basket and checkout | Session to 12 months, depending on function |
| Preferences | Remember language, display or user choices | Session to 12 months |
| Analytics | Measure visits and performance in aggregate | Up to 24 months |
| Marketing | Measure campaigns, limit ads and build advertising audiences | Up to 24 months |
| Embedded media | Play video or other third-party content | Set by the provider; activated only where required consent exists |
4. Technologies that may be present
- WordPress, WooCommerce and learning tools: login, security, session, basket and checkout cookies.
- Cookie consent tool: records whether you accepted, rejected or changed categories.
- Cloudflare or hosting security: bot protection, availability and load balancing.
- Stripe, PayPal, Apple Pay, Google Pay or Klarna: fraud prevention and payment functionality during checkout.
- Google Analytics 4 and Google Tag Manager: analytics tags only after consent. Common GA4 cookies include
_gaand_ga_*, usually up to 24 months. Tag Manager itself deploys configured tags and should not override your consent choice. - Meta or other advertising pixels: campaign measurement and advertising only after marketing consent.
- YouTube or Vimeo: embedded video functionality; privacy-enhanced or consent-blocked mode is used where available.
- Ahrefs or equivalent analytics: aggregated site measurement, only under the applicable consent configuration.
The live consent panel is the authoritative current list of individual non-essential cookies, providers, purposes and durations. We review it whenever tags or providers change. A provider must not be added to the site without also updating the consent configuration and this policy where material.
5. Legal basis
Necessary technologies are used to provide a service requested by you or for closely related security purposes. Consent is used for non-essential storage or access under PECR and, where applicable, the EU ePrivacy rules, and for related personal-data processing under the UK GDPR or EU GDPR. Where Turkish law applies, optional cookies rely on a valid opt-in choice unless another lawful condition clearly applies.
6. International transfers
Some providers may process data outside the UK or EEA. Transfers are handled as described in our Privacy Policy.
7. Contact
Questions or a request to withdraw consent can be sent to [email protected]. Withdrawing cookie consent does not remove data lawfully processed before withdrawal.
